      Learn more about Spatula

      What Is Spatula Tile?

Spatula is a full-body porcelain tile with the soft, hand-troweled texture of fresh plaster, offered in six colors, Plaster, Sandstone, Terra Silk, Sage Mist, Ember, and Midnight Slate, across a 3.5x7 subway and a 7x7 square. Because it's full-body porcelain, the color runs all the way through the tile rather than sitting in a surface glaze, so chips and edge wear stay hard to spot.

      Spatula Floor and Wall Tile

Both formats share identical specs: 8mm matte porcelain with a DCOF over 0.42 and a PEI 4 wear rating, so it grips reasonably well underfoot and holds up to regular foot traffic. Both sizes are rated for shower pans, pool linings, fireplace surrounds, and frost resistance, so the same tile works equally well on a sloped shower floor, a pool edge, or a covered patio. Water absorption stays under 0.5%, in line with the dense, low-porosity body you'd expect from full-body porcelain.

      Spatula Tile by Room

Shower: Run Spatula on shower walls and the shower pan in the same color for a seamless, plaster-look enclosure.

Pool and outdoor kitchen: The frost resistance and pool lining rating let Spatula move from an indoor backsplash to an outdoor kitchen or pool edge without switching tiles.

Kitchen backsplash: The 3.5x7 subway format works in a classic offset, a herringbone, or a stack, depending on how much texture you want to show off. The 7x7 square format reads more modern in a straight grid.

Fireplace surround: All six colors carry a fireplace surround rating, so Midnight Slate or Ember works as a moody, textured hearth wrap.

      How to Choose Spatula Tile

Pick the 3.5x7 for a classic subway look, or the 7x7 for a cleaner modern grid. Both formats share the same specs, so the choice comes down to pattern, not performance.

Reach for Terra Silk if you want a warm, sun-baked feel. It pairs naturally with terracotta-toned spaces and Mediterranean or Southwest-inspired rooms.

Use Midnight Slate or Ember for contrast, Plaster or Sandstone for a calm neutral. Pale grout lets the trowel texture stand out more on the lighter colors.

Order a sample before you commit. The hand-troweled texture and color depth read differently in person than on a screen, especially across the six porcelain colorways.
